The hardness of the film directly affects the smoothness of the film, mainly through the physical stability of the film and the force performance during transportation. Specific analysis can be conducted from the following aspects:
1、 The negative impact of insufficient hardness on the smoothness of film output
Fragile and generates debris
Chips with too low hardness (such as those with excessive brittleness) are prone to edge chipping, cracking, or even overall fragmentation during the chip production process when subjected to track vibration, collision, or contact with equipment components. The powder and fragments generated by fragmentation will accumulate in the discharge channel, track gaps, or feeding port, gradually blocking the path, especially during high-speed pressing, where the accumulation speed of debris is faster, which may lead to frequent shutdowns for cleaning. Film deformation leads to jamming
Chips with insufficient hardness have poor compressive strength. If there is slight compression on the output track (such as improper adjustment of track spacing) or stacking of chips, they are easily deformed by compression (such as edge depression, middle bulge). The deformed chips have irregular sizes and may get stuck at the corners, joints or output ports of the track, causing blockage.
2、 The potential impact of high hardness on the smoothness of film output
Poor flexibility and easy to get stuck
Chips with high hardness usually have increased brittleness (especially when the material is brittle). Although they are not easily broken, the overall hardness of the chips tends to be "hard and brittle", lacking a certain degree of flexibility. When passing through curved tracks or angled wafer slots, if there are small protrusions or steep angles on the track, the hard and brittle wafer may become stuck due to excessive rigidity. Especially when the wafer thickness is large, excessive hardness can increase the frictional resistance with the track, resulting in slower conveying speed and even accumulation at the end of the track.
Increased friction with equipment components
The surface of some films with excessively high hardness may not be smooth enough (if lubrication is insufficient), and the friction between the film and the output track may increase, especially on the vibration track, which may cause "slipping" or "stagnation" phenomenon, resulting in the film being unable to move at the expected speed, and subsequently causing the film to accumulate and block.
